Default New to this great forum

Hello, Got interested in engraving from seeing some really outstanding work on vintage watches. Have been trying to learn off and on since 1996 through books. Mostly interested in lettering and and simple designs. Have a well equipped shop by 1960 standards. Quickly learned that if you can not draw, you can not make nice work. Have spent alot of time learning mechanical drawing skills and calligraphy. I am pretty good at teaching myself new skills, but engraving has been the hardest. Still a beginner, but I enjoy it very much. Sort of like golf, where people are terrible at it and know they always will be, but they still love it and can't give it up. Kevin.

Welcome to the greatest forum for the beginner. The people on the forum go above and beyond to help. As for the golf, yes I am terrible, but I refuse to give in. Besides, they let me drink and drive the cart!
