Default Hello from Ohio :)

Hi, I'm an artist working with 'Robert Williams Custom Straight Razors'. I've only been working with Robert for less than a year though I've been an artist all of my life, from the walls of my bedroom as a child to painting murals in Ireland where I used to live. I love detail and have self taught myself to scrimshaw on ivory and faux ivory. I always see myself as a learner and look forward to learning more here and perhaps being able to share what I learn with others here too. I seem to specialise in Celtic art, that wasn't planned but I am Irish and have taken classes in the construction of Celtic art and painted my own designs in watercolours successfully, so it seems a natural progression for me. Here are some of my projects so far.

Faux = fake, I've started using a synthetic substitute for ivory because of the pressure about real ivory. It's a little different to work with than real ivory but all in all it turns out looking more or less similar depending on how fussy you are.

Hi
Thank you for enlightening me on that,I got some ivory substitute ( that is how its known here) to make a couple of grips.
Any tips generally on how to do some large scrim designs on them ?
I tried a little while ago and could do only small designs.

Appreciated
