Friends of the forum:
I have finished this engraving in a pocketknife Spyderco kiwi. He is a model child that I have realized for Paul Beretta ( collector and friend ). The mister Paul Beretta, he values this model of pocketknife highly and he has trusted me, in order to make an engraving. I am satisfied with the result and as always, I have learned when making this engraving. A greeting Montejano ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Montejano, I think your friend will be very happy with it. I have been looking for suitable knives to engrave with out big exspence. Was the handle a lot softer than the blade? Ill bet that blade was a hard bugger!

Montejano, Very nicely done! What did you use to accomplish the background removal on the blade?

Hello Montejano, welcome back my friend.
Another fantastic knife with outstanding photographs as usual. You are truely a master with both the acid etching and the camera. I am still amazed by your work on the knife you did for me, a treasure. Glad to see you posting some of your beautiful work again. Take care. John B. |

Friend Douglas:
It is certain that the hilt is very soft and easy from engraving with burin. The plate ( blade ) is tremendously hard, but I do not have problems with the hardness of steel. Friendly brandvik: The withdrawal of the bottom is a mixed media of strong water and strawberry of steel. Friendly John: It is a pleasure to see him cutting in on me after. I consider a very person understood in the engraving to him ( master ), but most of all I consider my friend to him. I make happy myself that you enjoy the pocketknife that I sent him. A greeting Montejano |

As a comment: The Spyderco's have an aluminum scale - easy to carve, and offer a nice canvas due to their size and shape. There are a few that have a dark finish on them, so the engraving shows up well, others are plain aluminum finish (not encluding the man made materials).

Hi Antonio
As usual that is one very beautiful knife you have done there. Your work is always a real treasure to look at. I was lucky enough to see the knife that you gave John B. when I was in the USA. Absoulutley beautiful. Great photos as well. Best wishes Andrew |

Thanks.
I hope that John enjoy the pocketknife, that engraving to the acid is not easy to find. A technique of the century is XIX in cutlery. With origin in Toledo ( Spain ). A greeting:yesnod: Montejano |

Hello Antonio,
I am eagerly awaiting the arrival of the Kiwi. You have turned a very ordinary pocketknife into an extraordinary work of functional art. It will give me much pleasure, both to look at and to use, for many years to come. Thank you! ![]() Quote:

Beautiful job Montejano, I noticed the hint that you acid etched the blade? is that correct or did you cut it with a graver? Either way it is nice.
