I finished a commission the other day for a young man who recently became a fully trained Irish soldier.
It's a sterling silver signet with a 9ct disk on the top. All hand made by me. (had one hell of a time with porosity at the edges of the disk ![]() The lettering is about 0.5mm or 1/32" tall and means "Soldier of Ireland". All cut with a Steve Lindsay Classic and a M42 graver sharpened with a 96 degree template. I know I probably should have used the 116 or 123 but the details were so small that I wanted them nice a deep (relatively) so they'd last. Dave ![]() |
