Hi MO, I was thinking a dark blue/gray color but still not sure. The blue color of the engine was the stock color they painted them then. The engine will be pretty much stock but with a little hotter cam. They were available in v6 or V8 then. This was a V8 304.

Here is a pic of Tim driving the vette before he burned his leg and before he broke the motor! He got to drive the jeep after this to get us back home. Really wasn't his fault though. It was a rocker nut that broke and then came loose.
