Here is a piece I took to the BLADE show, and its description:
“True Colors”
The Steve Hoel Diamond and inlay Coke bottle
Engraved by Barry Lee Hands
From the engraving studio of Barry Lee Hands,
this stunning vintage medium coke bottle features:
twenty two brilliant cut white diamonds set into the five color virgin gold and platinum leaves created in 24k yellow, 23k antique yellow,
14k pastel green, 18k green, 22k rose gold and pure platinum.
Executed in fully sculpted raised relief upon a stunning background of sculpted french grey scroll spread across the 416 stainless frame.
The opulent 24k flush line borders and raised 24k yellow and 18k green alternating scroll borders magnificently frame and surround the Steve Hoel seven piece abalone and black lip pearl inlay, which is inlaid with Barry’s original “Gilded Pearl” technique featuring seven 24k gold leaves and 24k gold stems on the obverse and reverse.
The ATS 34 blade is decorated with Barry’s Original “Burnished gold” technique, the first knife blade in the world to be decorated with this fabulous, innovative technique.
A 24k yellow and 18k green twisted gold rope border runs all the way around the outside edges terminating at the back of the thumb cutout. Between the gold rope borders are burnished gold leaves and a wavy burnished gold line.
The first and only knife with sculpted five color gold and platinum, “gilded pearl” on abalone, with the “burnished gold” blade,
and twenty two diamonds.
